Name of the new CESNET director is known
The new director of the CESNET association will be Jakub Papírník, current director of the Charles University Computer Centre.
The Board of Directors of the CESNET association decided on this in an open tender. Jakub Papírník will take office on August 1st this year, when he will replace the long-term director Jan Gruntorád. Jakub Papírník served several terms of office as a member of the CESNET Supervisory Board.
At Charles University, Jakub Papírník (52) focused mainly on the digitization of the university’s agendas and management processes. Previously, from 1994 to 2014 he worked in Czech Radio, of which last three years as technical director. At Czech Radio, he dealt with, for example, the centralization of a computer system for production and broadcasting, the digitization of a radio archive or the modernization of production studios.
Jakub Papírník is a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague.
