The Czech National Competence Centre in HPC invites you to the Quantum Computing Seminar: Grover’s Algorithm and the Schrödinger Equation, held online and on-site at IT4Innovations on 13 November 2025.
This seminar introduces a quantum algorithm for estimating multiple eigenvalues of quantum Hamiltonians via singular-value minimisation, combining amplitude amplification (Grover-related) with phase estimation. We will also outline a quantum pseudospectral collocation method for the Schrödinger equation with favourable fault-tolerant scaling up to Õ(√N) for certain potentials, compared to classical O(N^2). The approach avoids unstable matrix inversion in generalised eigenvalue problems and is effective for many excited states and ill-conditioned cases, relevant to high-dimensional molecular systems.
