How artificial intelligence is reshaping research was the focus of the Google AI Leaders Connect event held on May 20 at Prague’s Martinic Palace. Attendees gained up-to-date insights into how AI shapes Czech science, the economy, and innovation. Among the highlights was a forward-looking talk by Matej Antol from CERIT-SC (Masaryk University).
The event, hosted by František Štrupl, Country Director of Google Czech Republic, brought together top managers from AI, government, business, and academia, including speakers from Google, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and prg.ai.
Matej Antol emphasized the crucial importance of managing research data and particularly focused on the revolutionary tool AlphaFind, which enables advanced searches in protein structural data. This innovative project is the result of collaboration between CERIT-SC, the Faculty of Informatics, and CEITEC at Masaryk University. AlphaFind works with data from Alphafold, awarded the Nobel Prize, and represents a significant contribution to the advancement of scientific research.
